Allergy diagnosis starts with a detailed history—seasonal vs perennial symptoms, relation to food, insect stings, or medications. We examine for comorbidities (asthma, eczema) and may trial intranasal steroids or antihistamines before referral. Skin prick testing, specific IgE, and supervised oral food challenges are typically performed by allergists; unproven “food sensitivity” blood panels are discouraged.
